Here are some Q&As that might be on your mind...

Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: Unfortunately, to fund the expenses of the event, there is a £10 registration fee per team of up to 8 people (this includes crew, not your cast). The registration fee buys the team entry into the competition.

Q: Do I have to be a student of the University of St Andrews to compete?
A: No! This competition is open to anyone who lives in or just happens to be in St Andrews during the appropriate time.

Q: How will I know if my registration has been confirmed?
A: Once you have paid online, you will receive an email confirming that payment, and this will act as your overall confirmation of registering for the festival.

Q: Can I use photographs or other media obtained outside the 60 hour time frame?
A: If you have the rights to use other media material, e.g, photographs, then you are allowed to use those within your film. However, all film footage must be shot within the allocated hours of the festival (after all, that's kind of the point!) Agreement documents will be provided to each team and will need to be signed and handed in with each film submission.

Q:Do I have to attend the workshops to compete in the Film Blitz?
Not at all! The workshops are meant to prepare and instruct competitors in guerrilla film making, but they are optional and not required to enter the competition.

Q: Can I make a film about anything?
A: Yes! As long as it's shot in St Andrews, then we don't mind what the content is (If you're stuck, do remember that the festival is in association of the 600th anniversary celebrations, so perhaps a film about community and how communities function on large and small scales.)

Q: Will there be support throughout the festival, in case something goes wrong?
A: There will be dedicated Festival Staff available (times and venues to be announced shortly). Mobile numbers of our technical officers and general staff will be provided to participants, but please be aware that these are not to be called after hours, unless you have express permission.

Q: Where and when will the screening of the films take place?
A: The 2013 Film Blitz screening will take place on Friday, March 8th, at 7pm in the Buchanan Lecture Theatre.
